Governor Ned Lamont ended fare-free busses in April of 2023,
resulting in a significant drop in ridership. Lamont and our
legislators lack political willpower to deliver adequate
equitable and sustainable services to Connecticut
communities, despite the urgency of the climate crisis and a
large transportation budget surplus for the state.
Public Transit Must Be Free And Accessible To All
Working people, tenants, and all residents of Connecticut
deserve public transit that gets them to work, to school, to
medical care, and which supports their lives. As transit riders,
you have the power to organize with TRUCT and demand a
public transit system that works for the people who use it.
